How to Order a Taxi Using Your WeChat

Getting a taxi in the streets of Beijing can sometimes be quite challenging especially during late hours when taxis are in high demand. Here are step by step instructions on how to order a taxi using your phone! Note that this service requires talking to the driver over the phone and entering the address using Chinese characters.

Start by selecting the function ‘order a taxi’

Identity Check

First notice the icon in top left corner. After clicking on it you will be directed through a quick identity check. Enter your mobile phone and wait for a code to be sent to your mobile phone.

Now let's start by entering our location:

－你在哪儿上车：Enter the location where you would like to take the car from. If your location services are working, the location will be determined automatically.

-您要去哪儿：Enter your desired destination.
In our example we have selected to go from Peking University (北京大学) to Beijing Capital Airport Terminal 3 (首都机场3号航站楼).
When you’re ready – click on 叫出租车 (call taxi).

Last page is confirmation. Double check that you’ve got the right address and to confirm press 立即出发 (send out immediately). If you want to cancel or make any changes select 返回修改 (go back). After confirmation the drive will contact you via phone call.
